Firestick users
Amazon are about to send updates which may prevent you from using some non mainstream apps, ours could be one of those apps.

Just to be clear the Firestick "Select" is a different issue as the Select is not Android and so not usable with our service.

For ALL other firesticks
You can avoid these updates as follows: -

Best results come from combining Method 1 + Method 2

✅ Method 1: Turn OFF update-related settings (do this first)
Settings
My Fire TV
About
Check for Updates → DO NOT click
Go back
Developer Options
Turn OFF:
Automatic Updates (if shown)
Install Unknown Apps (only turn back on when needed)
Note: Some Fire OS versions hide the auto-update toggle — that’s normal.

✅ Method 2: Block Amazon update servers (MOST EFFECTIVE)
This is the method advanced users rely on.
Option A: Block updates at your router (recommended)
Log into your router and block these domains:
amzdigitaldownloads.edgesuite.net
softwareupdates.amazon.com
updates.amazon.com
d3ag4hukkh62yn.cloudfront.net
If your router supports DNS blocking or parental controls, add them there.

Option B: Use a custom DNS that blocks updates
Set DNS on the Fire Stick or router to:
AdGuard DNS → 94.140.14.14 / 94.140.15.15
This blocks many Amazon update endpoints automatically.

✅ Method 3: Use ADB to disable update services (ADVANCED)
⚠️ Works only until a major system update slips through.
Enable Developer Options
Turn ON:
ADB Debugging
From a PC, run:
adb connect FIRESTICK_IP
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.amazon.device.software.ota
This disables the OTA update service.

✅ Method 4: Keep Fire Stick offline when not in use
Disconnect Wi-Fi when finished
Only reconnect when streaming
Simple but effective over time.
